YINK FAQ Series | Episode 3

Q1What’s new in YINK 6.5?

This is a concise, user-friendly summary for installers and buyers.

 New Features :

1.Model Viewer 360

  • Preview full‑vehicle images directly in the editor. This reduces back‑and‑forth checks and helps confirm fine details (sensors, trims) before cutting.

2.Multi‑Language Pack

  • UI and search support for major languages. Mixed‑language teams collaborate faster and reduce naming confusion.

3.Inch Mode

  • Imperial measurement option for shops used to inches — cleaner numbers in edge expansion, spacing, and layout height.

Experience Improvements (15+)

a.Smoother layout and editing during long batch jobs; improved memory handling.

b.Faster search & filtering by year / trim / region; better fuzzy matches and aliases.
c.Cleaner DXF/SVG export and improved compatibility for external CAD/CAM.
d.Snappier UI interactions; more responsive zoom/pan; minor bug fixes that reduce unexpected stops.

Core Tools (kept)

Editing/Prep: One‑key Edge Expansion (single & full‑car), Add Text, Delete/Fix Door Handles, Straighten, Split Big Roof, Graphical Decomposition, Separation Line.
Data Libraries: Global Automotive Model Data, Interior Patterns, Motorcycle PPF Kits, Skylight Ice Armor Films, Logo Engraving, Helmet Decals, Mobile Electronic Equipment Films, Car Key Protection Films, Full Body Part Kits.

Takeaway: 6.5 is about being faster, steadier, and easier to find.

Q2How to choose among the four 6.5 plans?

Start from the problem you need to solve: trial/short‑term, year‑round stability, or extreme material savings.

Deep‑Dive: What the 6.5 Upgrades Mean in Daily Work

1) Model Viewer 360 → Fewer rechecks, cleaner cuts

Keep a reference image in sight while editing patterns; reduce tab‑switching and mismatches on complex bumpers/roof pieces.
Tip: Pin the viewer next to the edit canvas; zoom to confirm sensor holes/trim differences before sending to cut.

2) Multi‑Language Pack → Faster teamwork
Let frontline installers search using their native terms while managers keep English. Mixed‑language teams stay aligned.
Tip: Standardize a short internal glossary for trims and packages so search results stay consistent.
3) Inch Mode → Less mental conversion
For shops that measure in inches, Inch Mode removes conversion friction in edge expansion, spacing, and layout height.
Tip: Pair Inch Mode with saved Edge‑Expansion Templates for repeatable results across branches.
4) 15+ Experience Improvements → Stability on long runs
Smoother navigation in large jobs; better memory handling during long batch cuts; cleaner DXF/SVG export when you need external CAD.
Tip: For long parts, keep Segment Cutting on; verify the first segment before full send.

Quick‑Start Checklist (Post‑Upgrade)

1.Refresh → Align → Test Cut → Full Cut (golden sequence).
2.Load your saved Edge‑Expansion Templates (front bumper, hood, roof).
3.Set Spacing and Layout Height for your film width; verify in Inch or Metric.
4.Run a 1‑car pilot (large + small pieces) and note film used + time spent.
5.If film feed drifts, increase fan by 1 level and re‑align; avoid peeling liner on the machine to reduce static.

Plan Selection: Case-Based Guide

Case 1 | Small shop in Brazil, 1 year old (2 installers, 5–10 cars/mo)

  • Who you are: A neighborhood shop—low volume, priority is getting the workflow smooth.
  • Current pain: Not familiar with model search; unsure about spacing/edge settings; not sure if Super Nesting (SN) is necessary.
  • Recommended plan: Start with Basic (Monthly) for 1–2 weeks (Basic does not include SN). If material waste feels obvious, move to Pro (Monthly) to unlock SN; consider an annual plan after things stabilize.
  • On-site tips:
    1. Create 3 edge-expansion templates (front bumper / hood / roof).
    2. Follow Refresh → Align → Test cut → Full cut on every job.
    3. Track film used / time spent for 10 cars to decide upgrades with data.

Case 2 | Peak season surge (30 cars in two weeks)

  • Who you are: Usually moderate volume, but you just took a time-critical campaign.
  • Current pain: Need tighter layouts to cut swapping and waste.
  • Recommended plan: Pro (Monthly) (Pro includes SN). If high throughput continues after peak season, evaluate Premium (Annual) (includes SN).
  • On-site tips: Build batch layout templates for hot models; use Segment Cutting for long parts; group small pieces for single-pass cutting to reduce downtime.

Case 3 | Steady local shop (30–60 cars/mo)

  • Who you are: Mostly common models, steady work all year.
  • Current pain: Care more about consistency and support than extreme material savings.
  • Recommended plan: Standard (Annual) (Standard does not include SN). If film waste proves significant later, consider Premium (Annual) (includes SN).
  • On-site tips: Standardize layout rules and edge parameters; document an SOP. For missing models, email 6 angles + VIN to speed data creation.

Case 4 | High-throughput / chain (60–150+ cars/mo, multi-site)

  • Who you are: Multiple locations working in parallel; efficiency and material control must scale.
  • Current pain: Need scalable savings and priority support.
  • Recommended plan: Premium (Annual) (includes SN) to lock in year-round nesting efficiency and support.
  • On-site tips: HQ maintains unified edge templates/naming rules; use Multi-Language for cross-region teams; review monthly film/time metrics for continuous improvement.

Case 5 | Own another brand’s plotter, want to check compatibility first

  • Who you are: You already have a cutter, first time trying YINK.
  • Current pain: Worried about integration and learning curve; want a small-scope trial.
  • Recommended plan: Basic (Monthly) for connectivity & workflow validation (Basic does not include SN). If you later need tighter nesting, move to Pro (Monthly) (includes SN) or choose an annual plan based on needs.
  • On-site tips: Run one end-to-end pilot car (search → layout → test cut → full car). Confirm connection, fan levels, and alignment before scaling.

Post‑Upgrade FAQ (6.5)

Q1. Do I need to reinstall drivers?
Generally no; if connection drops, prefer wired USB/Ethernet, disable OS power‑saving for USB, and retry.

Q2. Why do small badges lift during cut?
Increase fan 1 level, add 1–2 mm safety margin, and group small pieces for a single pass.

Q3. Patterns look offset after long jobs.
Use Align just before sending; keep liner peeling off the machine to avoid static; use Segment Cutting for very long parts.

Q4. Can I switch languages per user?
Yes—enable Multi‑Language and set user preferenceWhen installing; keep a shared glossary so search terms map to the same trims.

Q5. Does Inch Mode affect existing templates?
Values convert, but verify edge‑expansion numbers on a test cut before batch production.
